'Scotch Whisky'
A brief has been set via the D&AD for a rebranding on Whisky. It's said that Scotch Whisky is known as a 'mans' drink and for this reason isn't aimed at women at all. The brief gives myself the opportunity to set a brand name, restyle the whisky 'look' and the way it's held/displayed within shops around the world to suit a female market - here is my outcome:
'Smirnoff Vodka' (Bottle Design)
As part of a 'small' brief I was set the task to design the labelling of an alcohol brand in the style of a current designer. My choice of designer was 'Craig Ward' and for the branding I chose Smirnoff Vodka. These two were chosen as both tend to produce very experimental work and therefore suited well.
Apart from the set labelling needed on the product such as it's name, the alcohol units and so on I kept the design quite minimal while still embracing the experimental style.
Using 'Why compromise?' the Smirnoff slogan I produced the below design. The idea is simple; when the bottle is empty the slogan can clearly be seen through the bottle at a fairly normal size and set in the standard horizontal format, however when the bottle is full of liquids the text is magnified (thus spread out more) creating a floating effect making the viewer spin the bottle in order to read it fully.
